Tag Using Mosaic Glass and Seamless Tile written with PSP 9 This lesson is not to be duplicated or distributed without my written permission Click here to show me off your results! ![]() Supplies Needed: 1 or 2 Tubes (Use your own supplies) Richard Roseman Plug In This Tag will be animated so we need to have a completed Tag to take to AS Duplicate your original Tube 3 times and close the original Minimize 2 of them For the first one we will make our seamless tile. I resized mine unchecking the lock aspect ratio to be able to make mine more square and give a better effect on the seamless tile. Don't forget to adjust/sharpen after resizing. I used the settings below, but you may need to play around with it, and make some adjustments ![]() Note the arrow and box around the small minus. This makes your preview windows smaller for better viewing your end results. Now minimize this seamless tile, and open up one of your other copies of your tube. This one we will add the Mosaic Glass effect to. I resized but not as much RECHECKING the Lock Aspect Ratio box. My settings are below, but once again you may prefer different ones. Feel free to play around with these settings. Go to Effects/Texture/Mosaic Glass ![]() When you have the effect you want click ok and minimize this for later Now open a new Transparent Image 400 X 400. Flood fill with light color from your Tube Add a New/New Raster Layer Set Foreground to Pattern and find your seamless tile Pattern and using these settings, Angle/0 Scale/100 flood fill your new raster layer. I lowered the Opacity of mine to 30 in my Layer Palette, but your preferences might be different. Some people like theirs as low as 12. It's your Tag so use what you like the best. Now copy and paste as new layer your Mosaic Glass Tile that we made earlier. Using your mover tool position it where you want it. You can also lower the Opacity on your Mosaic. I did not but you may prefer it that way. I resized my tube again to go on top of the Mosaic Glass to not be as large as the Mosaic Glass. Position it over but to the side just a little bit. You may want these to be toward the side of your Tag to have room for the insert we will be adding. When you have your Mosaic and your Tube where you want them Add a New/New Raster Layer and activate your selections tool I used the Elipse, but you may want want rectangle. It's your Tag so you do what you want. These are my settings for the selection tool ![]() Once you get your selection done, you can right click on the marching ants and hold, and move it where you want it. Still having your marching ants, flood fill this selection with your light color using Gradient/Style/Radial/Angle 65/Repeats 1/Horizontal 50/Vertical 50 Do not Deselect ![]() I lowered the Opacity of my gradient in the layer palette to 60% Do not deselect I then went to my Tube, Image/Mirror and then copy and paste into selection. Do not deselect Go to Effects/Plug Ins/Richard Roseman/Scanlines and these are my settings I used. Do NOT forget to change your color to very light grey. I wanted the lines very subtle, but you play around with the settings and find one you prefer. ![]() Do Not Deselect Go to Effects/Drop Shadow and these are my settings: Vertical & Horizontal both 2, Opacity 60, Blur 5.00 color/black Now add your brush or any other decorations you want on your Tag. Don't forget to add your drop shadows and your inner bevels to your text and other Tubes. The text I am using I made using a brush I made. I used my gradient to apply it, and changed the Repeats to 5. Then added my drop shadow, and inner bevel. Once you get your Tag the way you want it Merge All Flatten. Then Select All and go to Effects/3 D Effects/Cutout and these are my settings. Vertical and Horizontal both 2/Opacity/65/Blur/20/Color Black. Repeat but this time changing the 2 each to -2. Select None. This is the border I used on mine. It's simple but very attractive. Image/Add Borders/Symmetric Checked/2 Size, in color of your choice. I used my light color here. Image Add Borders/Size 20 in your dark color. Select border with magic Wand. Go to Effects/Distortion Effects/Punch. My settings were Strength 50%. You may play around and find one you like better. Apply, and then repeat 3 more times. Select None. With your Magic Wand choose the very small amount of border that is left after your Punch effect. Add an inner bevel of your choice. Select None. Add a New/New Raster Layer, and add your watermark. Now merge all Visible. You may want to resize now, or you can wait until you have your Tag done, and resize in AS Now we are ready to add our Sparkles. Go to your Layer Palette and duplicate your Image 2 times, making a total of 3 layers. Keeping the top layer active activate your Picture Tube Tool, and find your sparkle Tube. These are my settings that I used. ![]() Add 2 - 5 Sparkles on the top layer, and then activate the middle layer. Add 2 or 3 more and then activate the bottom layer. Do the same here. Then change your Scale to 30, and start at the top again, and repeat on each layer until you have your sparkles Scale 30 done. Then change your Scale to 20, and repeat with each layer until you have all your Sparkles added to each layer. Now we are ready to take our Tag to AS. You should know the routine by now... LOL. Starting with the top layer copy and paste and then go to AS and Paste as New Animation. Go Back to PSP and copy your middle Layer, and now back to AS and paste after current selection, and then repeat with your bottom layer. When you get all 3 layers in AS go to Edit/Select All/Frame Properties. I set my speed at 30, but you may want to keep yours at 10. That is your preference. Now view your animation, and if you like the results save and send through the group. I hope you have enjoyed this Tutorial. This is my very first Tutorial to write. I hope I have made it easy for you to understand ![]() Click here to show me off your results! Tutorial written for Le Café D'Amis © Mary Beth Wilson May 19, 2007 |
